Contracts Connected is looking for a freelance AI engineer to help us build intelligent systems that analyze, interpret, and validate the wide range of documents flowing through our platform — including certified payrolls, daily reports, subcontracts, compliance forms, estimates, proposals, and other project-critical files.

Your role is to design and implement AI-driven pipelines that can reliably extract structured data from complex construction documents, compare that data across sources, identify discrepancies, and trigger automated workflows or decisions.

You’ll develop AI agents and document-processing workflows that can:

• Parse and extract structured data from PDFs, scanned documents, and mixed-format attachments;
• Cross-check information across related documents (e.g., daily reports vs payrolls, subcontracts vs change orders);
• Identify missing, inconsistent, or non-compliant data;
• Validate calculations, rates, project details, signatures, and required fields;
• Produce clear explanations or decisions (approve, revise, reject, or escalate);
• Integrate with internal workflow engines to trigger automated actions;
• This work expands beyond a single document type — you’ll help establish a scalable, reusable AI document-analysis foundation for the entire Contracts Connected ecosystem.

• Strong experience with Python or TypeScript;
• Proven experience building AI/LLM-powered agents, automation pipelines, or document intelligence systems;
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Mastra.ai, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tools is a plus;
• Experience with PDF processing, OCR, and unstructured-to-structured data extraction;
• Ability to design clean, reliable, production-ready workflows;
