A real estate brokerage platform led by experienced industry professionals and world-class engineers is looking for a back-end developer. The selected developer will work across teams and collaborate on architecting solutions to problems while mentoring other engineers. Experience with testing such as unit or end-to-end testing is important in this role. The company is backed by top-tier venture capital firms and has raised over $200mn in funding so far. It is focused on providing top-performing agents and teams to elevate customers' experiences. This is a great opportunity to work with a nationwide company and grow rapidly. The role requires a minimum time zone overlap of 6 hours with PST.

• Understand business requirements and collaborate with the product management team to turn user stories into technical plans
• Communicate engineering constraints and objectives to the product team
• Evaluate and articulate end-to-end product designs for strengths and weaknesses (e.g., complexity, quality, scalability, latency, security, performance, data integrity, etc)
• Identify tech debt and make futuristic recommendations for reduction
• Uphold application performance and implement security best practices within the team
• Write full suite of automated tests to ensure production stability (unit, integration, e2e)
• Independently write clean and readable code for medium to large features
• Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedbacks
• Mentor other engineers on the growth engineering team

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ Years of backend application development experience in Node.js and JavaScript
• Extensive experience in JavaScript and Node.js/ Express.js (or any Node.js HTTP framework)
• Excellent working knowledge of PHP
• Strong unit, integration, and e2e testing experience
• Strong database experience on NoSQL and SQL
• Ability to mentor other engineers and act as a team player
• Knowledge of GraphQL, Firebase, and WordPress is a plus
• Experience with Security best practices and open-source is nice to have
